Makin' Em Say Neva by Doctor Who from the album: KillerS

It’s been awhile since i posted anything here but, i made this track last night and luved it. This Track is a tribute to the greatest producer from Detroit J Dilla aka Jay Dee off of the album Ruff Draft is a drum sample and a dedicated style song, i give u Makin’ Em Say Neva

The Album has a pretty uplifting feel to it, “As we Enter” brings a old school tribal feel to “Distant Relatives”. Where as the song “My Generation” has a 90’s we are the world track to the album. Nas And Damin have a unique chemistry on the album, i’m not a fan of regge but i’m a fan of Queens Bridge’s poet, “Count Your Blessings” has a dance style beat to it, some of the album is hit and miss with the production making up for some of the flaws in the album.
All in all Nas has an flow that reminds me of “It was Written” not his best work but it is not a Nastradmas. Nas however does come off strong overall in the album. There are personally 7 songs on here i’m feeling with the upbeat Jazz feel and Damin Marley seem to match up perfectly , i would recommend this album for those who like regge and a different style of hip-hop, i would give the album a 7.8/10 it’s a good solid album but nothing u would play all the time in the summer.

Go download it off bandcamp RIGHT NAOOO (c) Kanye

DaiKatamyIsGone2: The Last BeatTape from DaiKatamy

Well…the day had to come eventually. I originally got into production when I was an MC, primarily cause I hardly had money to pay producers. Did it for about 3 months before I quit as an MC for personal reasons. Fast forward 6 years later, and after watching the documentary “Scratch”, I KNEW what I really wanted to do. For two years I practiced and practiced, from scratching to blending to mixing, and finally got to a level I was comfortable at. Eventually I went from DJ’ing to beat making, and had fun with it too. The worst thing I could have done was start to put my work out there.

Simply put, I lost the love I had with it because I worked so hard to make people see me as a producer. Several projects later…projects I REALLY loved working on…and no one payed attention besides homies.  At this point I figured I’d stop doing it for people and keep doing it for myself.  I even got rid of twitter with the hopes of leaving people behind and doing it for me.  When I dropped DaiKatamyIsGone1 through Dokter Whu, people thought he produced it(which wasn’t his fault, and he didn’t take credit for it), so I had to come back to twitter to fix that.

Fast forward a month later, and here we are.  I got love for EVERYONE who ever downloaded a beat tape of mine, EVERYBODY who ever retweeted a link.  Y’all kept me going for this long.  Unfortunately…the love ain’t in me for this anymore.  I DJ’d my first wedding last weekend, and realized where my love stands.  So with that said, I present to you my final beattape…DaiKatamyIsGone2.

To the heads that supported, and at least peeped any link I sent them….much love.  Always.  To those that didn’t peep until now…even tho I’ve sent several projects to them….your loss.

The NEW REVAMPED SOL PRECISION PAGE

Me and DJ Dokter Whu have a lot of new music coming soon, so it’s only right that we revamp this old page.  I didn’t want to use it anymore but I figured I’d give it a chance since so many use tumblr now.  Enjoy the new format!

Why does Summer (Rejected Mix) by DJ DoctorWho from the album: After the Labor- Beats from the Strange Fruit Remixes

This is a trac from the “After the Labor- Beats from the Strange Fruit Remixes” beat tape i made i rejected the trac because it has way too many Freddie Joachim samples and i wanted a little more varitey in the “Strange Fruit Remix Album” so i might release the rest of these later on in the month.

THE NEW SOL PRECISION CREW

There are a bunch of new projects that hav me and DaiKatamy busy in our already busy lives. While DaiKatamy is work on his DaiSlo has Died trilogy, which is him combining old stuff from a year ago with beats that he is currently working on: won’t come out for awhile. I have jus finished remixes with Strange Fruit Project’s M.A.S.K. album, then the instrumentals and two bonus tracks will drop at the same time. The Strange Fruit of Labor album will b my 1st attempt at making beats for acapella so we’ll see how people will like it.

Back From The Grave: DaiKatamy Speaks

So…I know alot of twitter heads are wondering where I went.  I was gonna stay gone but a few things have happened recently that I have to speak on.

First off, shouts to my brother DJ Doctor Who for keeping my name out there in the twitter world, and promo’ing my stuff.  So alot of y’all need to pay attention to that…MY stuff.  The DaiKatamyIsGone beat tape is my material.  All sampled, chopped, produced…by ME.  For the most part, those who I had Doc Who send the beat tape to know that I did it but there are a LOT that don’t, and have been giving him the credit for the entire tape.  Fortunately for me he hasn’t been taking that credit.  Hopefully this makes it easier on him so that he doesn’t have to keep correcting y’all.

Why is it so important that I get the credit?  Beyond the fact that I made it, all of those beats were joints that I made last year that I was not confident in at all.  It took Doc Who encouraging me to actually put it out there so he does deserve some credit.  It took a minute before I got confident enough in those beats to put them out there so yes, I do want the credit.  I think I’ve been modest about my beats long enough.

So…why did I leave twitter?  For many heads it’s an incredible promo tool, a great way to keep in contact with your favorite artists, a way to meet new people.  For me, it was something that took up way too much of my time, and was a substitute for real life…which it NEVER should be.  I’m not gonna get on a high horse and preach about how bad twitter is because it isn’t, the worst part is how YOU utilize it.  Like I said earlier I genuinely miss many of you (and i’ma name drop, linz_82, chantigaloBEroc, ladyvee, dollmatic, annakissel and her freestyles, and many others) and I hope you are all doing well.  Twitter also had me making beats to be better than other producers instead of making stuff I genuinely felt, which resulted in beats people liked but I hated, and NOTHING’S worse than making something you hate but others like.

So yea…that was basically 3 weeks of tweets in one blog post lol.  I’m glad people are actually liking DaiKatamyIsGone, it’s very much appreciated.  Be sure to cop that DJ Doctor Who Regeneration EP as well.  We got a lot more coming this year, Doc Who has Last Of The Timelords possibly dropping next week, and I’m dropping DaiSLO Nakata Is Dead very soon.  Sol Precision is staying relevant even tho only one of us is still repping on the tweet side.  Oh yea, this isn’t Sol Precision related but this is extended fam, be sure to cop my sis Flow3rMant1s’ new mixtape Mant1s In Wonderjamz.  It’s only $5, and worth much more than that, cop it here.  If you haven’t copped any of our stuff, and this blog is new to you, be SURE to peep Sol Precision at Bandcamp.  Alright y’all…stay real.
