Well…the day had to come eventually. I originally got into production when I was an MC, primarily cause I hardly had money to pay producers. Did it for about 3 months before I quit as an MC for personal reasons. Fast forward 6 years later, and after watching the documentary “Scratch”, I KNEW what I really wanted to do. For two years I practiced and practiced, from scratching to blending to mixing, and finally got to a level I was comfortable at. Eventually I went from DJ’ing to beat making, and had fun with it too. The worst thing I could have done was start to put my work out there. Simply put, I lost the love I had with it because I worked so hard to make people see me as a producer. Several projects later…projects I REALLY loved working on…and no one payed attention besides homies. At this point I figured I’d stop doing it for people and keep doing it for myself. I even got rid of twitter with the hopes of leaving people behind and doing it for me. When I dropped DaiKatamyIsGone1 through Dokter Whu, people thought he produced it(which wasn’t his fault, and he didn’t take credit for it), so I had to come back to twitter to fix that. Fast forward a month later, and here we are. I got love for EVERYONE who ever downloaded a beat tape of mine, EVERYBODY who ever retweeted a link. Y’all kept me going for this long. Unfortunately…the love ain’t in me for this anymore. I DJ’d my first wedding last weekend, and realized where my love stands. So with that said, I present to you my final beattape…DaiKatamyIsGone2. http://solprecisioncrew.bandcamp.com/album/daikatamyisgone2 To the heads that supported, and at least peeped any link I sent them….much love. Always. To those that didn’t peep until now…even tho I’ve sent several projects to them….your loss. -DaiKatamy
